With safety in mind, here at K9 Ramblers, we recommend that no more than four dogs should be walked at any one time.
  • What is your policy on walking more than one dog at a time?
When it comes to dog walking, the key is to always prioritize safety and comfort. As a professional dog-walking business, we adhere to a strict policy when it comes to handling multiple dogs. First and foremost, any person assigned to walk two or more dogs must have experience with animals and be trained in how to safely handle them. This includes being knowledgeable on leash etiquette and proper restraining techniques. At K9 Ramblers, all of our staff members have received canine safety training so that they can keep the dogs safe at all times while out on walks. All dogs must pass an assessment test that evaluates their temperament as well as their physical health before going out on walks together with other dogs. Additionally, every outdoor adventure is closely monitored to ensure that everyone remains safe throughout the entire duration of the adventure. Lastly - but just as importantly - we make sure there’s enough “me” time for each pup while they’re under our care! Dogs need lots of socialization during walks but we make sure each pup gets plenty of individual attention so they feel loved while they're away from home too!
  • What is your policy on walking aggressive dogs?
At K9 ramblers, we understand the importance of providing a safe and enjoyable experience for our furry clients. That's why we do not accept aggressive dogs into our walking service. We only work with sociable, friendly dogs that are comfortable with being walked in groups.
  • How do you handle severe weather?
Every dog walking business is a unique one when it comes to severe weather, as we could face anything from a light rain shower to heavy snow and hail. The most important factor in deciding how best to handle the situation is safety — both for the dogs and for their walkers. If severe weather has been forecasted we will inform clients in advance about cancellations, which should minimize confusion when scheduling new walks. Additionally, we will plan out alternate routes that avoid exposed areas such as open fields or large bodies of water where strong gusts may cause safety issues. If possible we will avoid areas with slick surfaces like ice as these can cause slips or falls with both pets and us getting injured. During times when outdoor activity isn't safe due to extreme temperatures (too hot/cold), we will inform you ahead of time and let you know what other solutions are available.
  • How will you keep track of my dog(s)?
We use Pet Sitter Plus software specifically intended for organizing dog walking services, which allows us to easily organize your information such as contact details, address, breed(s) and name(s) of the dog(s), special health considerations or requests from you (e.g., medication schedule), payment information, walk schedules/history and invoices. We will also provide photo and/or video updates after each walk so you can see what an engaging time your pup had while being walked. We believe that these methods ensure that both we and you have an accurate record of all interactions related to the service provided by K9 Ramblers.
  • What happens if a dog escapes while being walked?
If a dog escapes while being walked by K9 Ramblers, we will contact you in the first instance. We have our policies, measures and protocols in place to help with recovery. We will be using an established network of contacts such as other pet businesses, rescue organizations or dog kennels near our area and posting “Lost Dog” posters in public places to aid in the search. For more serious cases involving theft (i.e kidnapping), then it may be necessary to file a police report because the authorities would then be able to assist more efficiently given the resources available at hand.
  • What are the benefits of hiring a professional dog walker?
Using a professional dog walker can be incredibly beneficial for both the pet and the owner. Regular exercise aid in improving your pet’s physical health and mental well-being. Let’s look at some of the key advantages that dog walking services have to offer: The key benefit is that professional dog walker provides relief from worry over leaving pets alone during long working hours. If a pet parent needs someone reliable that can come several times per week – maybe even daily – then hiring a professional walker allows them peace of mind knowing that their four-legged family member isn’t lonely during those long days. Your dog walker can provide much-needed physical activity for your pooch while helping them socialize with other animals in a safe and controlled environment. The walks allow dogs to explore new places regularly while encouraging healthy habits. A well-exercised dog has less destructive energy which results in fewer behavioural issues at home like barking, and jumping on people or furniture – all common frustrations for many pet owners! Moreover, dogs love structure; establishing routine outings with a designated walker ensures fewer disruptions as compared to catching up on walks sporadically. Additionally, consistent physical activity is vital for optimal canine growth – whether it is through running, swimming or even just slow-paced strolls along long trails – ensuring that joints can remain healthy throughout their life whilst also aiding weight management issues if any arise over time (it has been proven that obesity affects an estimated 54% of all companion animals).
  • What are some tips for finding a good dog walker?
When it comes to finding a good dog walker, there are many important factors to consider. It is imperative that you evaluate each potential candidate carefully and based on their merits before deciding who will best meet your needs and the needs of your pup. The first step in finding a qualified dog-walker is to determine what criteria are most important for you. Think about the services you need from the walker, such as length of walks, number of dogs that will be walked at once, additional services like grooming or training, pick up/drop off capabilities, safety concerns for your pet if they are being transported somewhere else during the walk etc. Knowing what type of service you need can help narrow down possible candidates. Choosing a reputable dog walker can seem daunting, but it doesn't have to be. The key is to do your research and ask the right questions so that you can find the best fit for you and your pup. First, start by doing some research online to locate dog walkers in your area. Check reviews from other owners and get an idea of their reputation. Ask friends or family members that have used dog walking services in the past if they have someone they can recommend – word-of-mouth advertising goes a long way! Once you've narrowed down a few options, it's time to ask them some questions! First, inquire about their policies when it comes to dogs under their care - what are their procedures for emergencies? Are they experienced in handling any behavioural issues they might come across while walking? Make sure you also ask about qualifications and certifications too – are they certified in pet CPR or first-aid? Do they participate in continuing education programs related to canine health and safety? All of this information should give you peace of mind knowing that your pup is safe while being walked. Make sure all paperwork including insurance waivers and contracts outlining terms and conditions provided by them are reviewed thoroughly so both parties understand expectations clearly before agreeing to anything. Finally, speak directly with each potential candidate before making a decision on who will be walking your dog. Consider how comfortable both yourself and your pup felt after speaking with them – did the conversation flow naturally or was there confusion at times? Take into account how well they communicate both verbally and through email/messaging channels which speaks volumes regarding professionalism and reliability when it comes to setting up walks or addressing any other issues along the way. Also, was there good communication during the consultation process which would make it easier for them to understand instructions going forward? Your gut feeling may provide further insight into whether this person is the right fit for not only you but especially for Fido too! Ultimately, finding a reputable dog walker involves taking the time necessary to do the proper research beforehand and then posing specific questions relevant to what matters most so that you can choose wisely! Best of luck!
  • How often should I book my dog for walking?
The frequency with which you should use dog walking services depends on your pup's needs, age and activity level. For most dogs, one to five walks a week is the recommended amount for mental stimulation and exercise. Establishing a regular routine for your canine companion will ensure the best care for their health and happiness – there are numerous benefits of providing daily walks or hikes to our four-legged friends. Daily walks have been proven to improve overall physical health as it keeps them active and strengthens their muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons. Additionally, regular exercise can help combat unwanted behaviours such as digging or chewing due to boredom caused by inactivity. It also helps with stress levels – just like humans need outlets to reduce tension such as meditation or yoga; dogs require an outlet too! Regularly scheduled outings provide not only physical but mental stimulation that stimulates both body and mind; this helps keep them sharp while allowing them to explore new things leading to increased alertness throughout the day – they become more energized after playtime which means better sleep throughout the night! Moreover, having someone else take control gives busy pet owners peace of mind knowing their pet is getting enough exercise without having to find time in their busy lives every single day. All-in-all hiring a professional dog walker ensures that your pooch gets adequate quality care tailored specifically around their individual needs giving pet owners peace of mind when it comes to caring for their beloved fur babies!
  • How do I know if my dog is a good candidate for dog-walking services?
Many factors go into determining whether or not your dog is a good candidate for dog-walking services. The first thing to consider is the physical health of your pet. Dogs should be in general good health, with no chronic illnesses or injuries that would limit their mobility and ability to enjoy a regular walk. It's important for you as the owner to determine what kind of environment and energy level best suits your dog when out walking; some prefer short, leisurely strolls while others may enjoy more activity such as hikes or fetching games. Knowing what type of activities excite your pup can help inform the decision on which service they will benefit from most. Additionally, behavioural considerations play an important role in choosing a dog-walking service that meets both your and your pet's needs – ask yourself questions such as "how does my pet respond to new people/environments?", "is my dog prone to getting overstimulated?" etc., These will give you an idea if they're suited for group or individual walks before settling on one option or another. It's also helpful to check reviews from former customers who’ve used the same service – these insights can provide great information about how a professional walker works with different kinds of animals, especially if yours has unique needs due to age, size, breed etc. Finally, consider talking directly with potential professionals that offer the services you’re looking for to get more insight about how well-suited your pup would be for walking sessions after engaging them in conversation about previous experiences dealing with different types of dogs possibly similar to yours. All this being said it'll ultimately boil down to finding someone who loves working with animals and understands each pup has its own special personality traits!
  • What should I do if I'm not happy with the dog walking services I've received?
If you are unhappy with the dog walking services you've received, there are several things you should do to ensure that it does not happen again. The first step is to communicate with the provider and outline what it is that has made you unsatisfied. Communicating your specific concerns will allow them a chance to understand exactly why they may have failed in their task and provide an opportunity for improvement. Clearly expressing your needs ensures that every party involved is on the same page, which is key in any service-based agreement. Once communication has been established between both parties, consider making changes to your contract or agreement if needed. Ask questions about the precise hours during which the walker will come, how often they’ll be able to come for walks, their qualifications for taking care of dogs (if any), and other such details. Additionally, if possible – take time before signing off on anything to meet with potential dog walkers in-person as this can be essential when determining who will fit best within your schedule.
